Tip 2 Get the transportation voucher
In Madrid, public transportation is phenomenal.
You have various alternatives to move around the city, from public to private transport. What we recommend is that you get the Community of Madrid youth travel pass, for 20 euros per month (if you are under 26 years old) you can use the Underground, bus, and suburban train throughout the metropolitan area.
You also have the option of renting bicycles from the Madrid City Council. You can use it punctually or as a monthly payment.
Madrid has various private companies for renting scooters, motorcycles, and electric cars to facilitate mobility. Of course, you can also use the taxi or VTC service such as Uber or Cabify.
Tip 3 Eating times
Lunch hours are totally different from the rest of Europe, normally the meal (lunch) is served between 2:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m., for dinner they usually do it between 9:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m., there are still restaurants that adhere to these times, however, many are already adapting and have their kitchen open earlier for both lunch and dinner.
Tip 4 Cost of life
We know that the world economic situation is not very stable, but we dare to give a list of expenses that you will surely have when you come to study in Madrid:
