What are the Erasmus scholarships?
Erasmus is the name given to the European mobility program per excellence, which celebrated its thirtieth anniversary last year.
It receives its name from the great humanist of the Middle Ages, Erasmus of Rotterdam, who studied in the main European medieval universities (France, England, the Netherlands, Italy, Germany …).
Erasmus scholarships are considered one of the programs that has best contributed to creating a sense of belonging among young people of different nationalities to the European Union.
How does the Erasmus scholarship work?
Students who apply to participate in the program travel to a European city of their choice to study for a period of 3-12 months. In order to carry out your stay, the student receives an economic endowment.
The figure depends on several factors, among which are the income, the standard of living of the country of destination, etc.
Erasmus scholarships are compatible with other complementary financial aids and grants that, often, universities or public administrations of each locality, region or country grant to students who decide to complete their studies with a stay abroad.

Requirements for Erasmus scholarships in 2018
Although it´s open to the maximum possible participation, there are some requirements or admission criteria that you should know about.
• Have citizenship in any of the 28 states of the European Union (Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Croatia, Cyprus, Denmark, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania) , Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, Romania and Sweden), or be a national of other countries outside the Union, but have a residence permit that covers the period in which it is desired make the stay with the Erasmus program.
• Be enrolled in the University, pursuing a Bachelor, Master or Doctorate degree in the academic year in which you apply for your Erasmus scholarship.
• Have passed 60 ECTS credits or have the first full course.
• Accredit the level of languages required by the university of destination, by passing a test.
• Don´t exceed the maximum of 12 months of Erasmus stay within the same training cycle (you can enjoy the scholarship in two different years, as long as in your first stay you have not exceeded 12 months.
• Not be enjoying other mobility or exchange programs with foreign universities, SICUE Program, etc., during the period of stay of the Erasmus program.
